Origin
Jones Motorsport is a family-owned, professional racing team founded in 2016. Beginning in local club and historic motorsport, the team quickly progressed through the ranks—entering the Australian Formula Ford Championship in 2017 and the Australian Formula 3 Championship in 2018, where team principal Harri Jones secured a race victory in the team’s debut season.
Following Formula 3, Harri continued his development with McElrea Racing in Porsche Sprint Challenge and Carrera Cup, before stepping onto the international stage with BWT Lechner Racing in Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup—widely regarded as the global benchmark in Porsche one-make competition.
In 2024, Jones Motorsport returned to Porsche Sprint Challenge competition with Ramu Farrell, laying the foundations for the team’s expansion. This was followed by Harri’s return to the driver’s seat with his own team in 2025.
The 2025 season marked a breakout year. Harri Jones delivered an exceptional campaign in Porsche Carrera Cup with 9 race wins, 13 podiums, and 3 pole positions, narrowly missing out on a third championship. In Pro-Am, Ramu Farrell made history, securing the championship and becoming the first Pro-Am driver to win outright races in Porsche Sprint Challenge, achieving this feat three times along with an outright pole position.
Building on this momentum, 2026 is shaping up to be a defining year. Hunter Robb returns to the cockpit teaming up with Ben Taylor and Mark Darling in Porsche Sprint Challenge, as Jones Motorsport continues to establish itself as a front-running force.
Based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Jones Motorsport operates from a state-of-the-art facility, supported by a highly experienced team. With the infrastructure, capability, and ambition to compete at the highest levels of Australian motorsport, Jones Motorsport is committed to delivering elite performance and providing drivers with a proven platform for success.
Vision

Our primary focus is on delivering a competitive on-track program, with top-tier car preparation, engineering, mechanics, and testing. At just 25-years-old Harri has proven himself as one of the stars in Porsche Motorsport. He holds a unique passion, drive and skillset in the sport and now as a team manager focus’ on building the best platform for the next crop of professionals to shine.

Team Principle
Peter has a long interest and involvement in motorsport starting in the early 1980’s when he first competed in an Alfa 105GTV at Calder raceway, Victoria.
He provides the Team with financial, legal, and corporate management experience gained from decades of operating a large diverse business. His qualifications include Bachelor of Economics, Master of Business Administration, and he is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia & New Zealand.
Peter still competes in historic and club level motorsport events.

Carrera Cup Manager
Matt Cook has lived and breathed the Motorsport world since the early 1990’s. It has seen him travel the world, working in the Formula 1 in the 2000s, to returning home and helping lead one of Australia’s most successful Race teams, most recently ‘Cooky’ has used his experience to take over and guide Porsche Centre Melbourne’s team to Championship success. Matt Cook’s addition to Jones Motorsport is pivotal to our success.

With 8 years of mechanical expertise and a lifetime immersed in motorsport culture in New Zealand, Michael's the ultimate racing enthusiast. From 4 years in IMSA to 10 years of go-kart racing, he's not just a mechanic; he lives for the thrill of speed and precision.

Darren has an immense passion for motorsport and performance driving. He has a background in workshop management and is qualified as a BMW Master Technician and High Voltage Technician. Darren has worked with professional Motorsport teams since 2018, including endurance races such as Spa 12HR, Bathurst 12HR and Phillip Island 3HR. He always pushes for personal growth and knowledge, especially in race car setup engineering and driver development.
