Origin

Jones Motorsport is a family run, professional race team which was founded in 2016. From humble beginnings partaking in local Club and Historic Motorsport, the team expanded in 2017 to the Australian Formula Ford Championship and then to the Australian Formula 3 Championship in 2018, where they won on debut. With the now team boss, Harri Jones, the primary driver behind the wheel, Jones Motorsport took Harri and developed him through all of his grass roots competition. Harri continued moving up the Motorsport Pyramid and after winning a Porsche Sprint Challenge and Carrera Cup Championship, Harri reached the pinnacle of Porsche one-make racing worldwide in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. From 2024, Harri is back in Australia fulltime and taking over operation of Jones Motorsport to expand into the top rungs of Porsche Motorsport in the region.

The team are based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, with state-of-the-art headquarters and an array of experienced, fulltime race technicians. Jones Motorsport has the infrastructure, capability and drive required to race and win in at the heights of Australian Motorsport and a strong desire to give emerging drivers a platform that enables them to shine.

Vision

Motorsport in Australia and abroad is an ever evolving, fast paced and hard to navigate industry. Jones Motorsport is a holistic team, offering first and foremost, a competitive on-track program (including top class car preparation, engineering, mechanics, and testing) but also guidance through the world of corporate partnerships, networking, physical and mental preparation, nutrition, career planning and all other aspects that a racing driver must cover in order to grow and evolve in the sport. This will be achieved by working with a number of industry leading professionals that have expertise and experience in the Motorsport space.

    At just 24-years-old Harri has proven himself as one of the stars in Porsche Motorsport. He holds a unique passion, drive and skillset in the sport and now as a team manager focus’ on building the best platform for the next crop of professionals to shine.

  • Team Principle

    Peter has a long interest and involvement in motorsport starting in the early 1980’s when he first competed in an Alfa 105GTV at Calder raceway, Victoria.

    He provides the Team with financial, legal, and corporate management experience gained from decades of operating a large diverse business. His qualifications include Bachelor of Economics, Master of Business Administration, and he is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia & New Zealand.

    Peter still competes in historic and club level motorsport events.

    With 34 years of mechanical mastery, Jason's expertise is unmatched. As a BMW Master Tech for 15 years and a registered Porsche technician, he's the go-to for precision. Plus, his passion for motorsport ensures your vehicle runs like a dream on and off the track.

    Emily has been around the motorsport world for over 7 years. Combining a background in healthcare, sales, and administration, Emily ensures seamless operations on and off the track.

    With 8 years of mechanical expertise and a lifetime immersed in motorsport culture in New Zealand, Michael's the ultimate racing enthusiast. From 4 years in IMSA to 10 years of go-kart racing, he's not just a mechanic; he lives for the thrill of speed and precision.

    Rheb, our team's go-to "Mr. Fix It," is a master problem-solver with extensive knowledge across a range of platforms. Beyond his mechanical expertise, Rheb is a skilled artist, infusing projects with a keen eye for design. His meticulous attention to detail, coupled with a passion for motorsport and design, sets him apart as a valuable asset to our team.

    Darren has an immense passion for motorsport and performance driving. He has a background in workshop management and is qualified as a BMW Master Technician and High Voltage Technician. Darren has worked with professional Motorsport teams since 2018, including endurance races such as Spa 12HR, Bathurst 12HR and Phillip Island 3HR. He always pushes for personal growth and knowledge, especially in race car setup engineering and driver development.
